Al Khayal In Hakaa translates to “If Imagination Could Speak”. In this installation, Almakan invited me to create an experience where the viewer can enter the Almakan Family’s memory and visualize the past three years chronologically. A purple/pink cloud created a dreamy atmosphere and all the photos, emails, sketches, letters and property visits were printed on tracing paper which embraced the foggy character that is memory. Time was also an important factor since Time is creative, so treating it as an absolute factor is denying its complexity, which is why, although you walk through chronologically, leaves of papers are scattered right and left, up and down, so it is challenging to fathom them all at once. The photos were taken during the opening night of the exhibition; March 23rd 2015.
